Dismukes, Andrea

Dr. Andrea Dismukes’s beloved and influential presence was felt for over three decades in Lee University’s School of Music. She held numerous roles, including chair of the Department of Vocal Music and professor of voice and diction. She also directed Ladies of Lee for six years, producing recordings and leading tours across the U.S. and abroad. As a celebrated soloist, she performed at iconic venues, collaborated with renowned conductors, and worked in both secular and sacred repertoire with passion and virtuosity. Off campus she was active in the local classical and church music scene as well as ministering through music in the local church. Known for her humor and her toughness, Dr. D shaped the lives of many students, modeling for them a pursuit of excellence combined with the love of Christ.
